British Flowers Week Open Morning

I will be opening the garden for British Flowers Week on Saturday June 8 for a garden tour and tea, coffee and cake. This event is free but you must book a ticket and donations towards tea and cake would be very welcome. Fresh flower bouquets will be available to purchase via cash or card - grab them early as I usually run out!

I didn’t manage the run the second garden tour last year because I was too busy chatting - so there will just be one this time from 10.30am.

I’ve added an extra open morning on August 4, 10-12 as the open morning in June is now fully booked. BOOK HERE

Pick Your Own Flowers

Come and spend some time in the garden and cut your own flowers to take home. This is an opportunity for anyone to take an hour out of their busy lives to unwind, to reconnect to themselves and to nature, and to just enjoy the sights and sounds and smells of the farm. Taking your flowers home with you, you’ll have the chance to explore your floral creativity at your own leisure, creating something beautiful for your own kitchen table or to gift to a loved one.

You’ll be given a pair of snips and a slim metal bucket to pick into which will comfortably hold a large handful of flowers.

You will have free reign over the garden, picking whatever takes your fancy, whatever colour combination. No flowers are off limits, although you will be given guidance when you arrive on how best to pick for the health of the plant and the longevity of your flowers.

Please bring a bucket or vase to take your flowers home in if you are travelling far.

Wear sturdy shoes for exploring the garden and dress for the weather!

Google maps will get you to the farm but sat nav will often take you somewhere else. Our drive is easy to miss so go slow - we’re opposite Kiddal Hall. Press the green button to open the gate. Park in the yard in front of the cow shed and make your way through the gate saying Sammie’s Flowers - it’s opposite you as you enter the yard. Call if you get lost on 07458011574.

Please note that PYO slots are £25 for 1 person for 1 hour, although this time limit is not strictly enforced, but ensures the garden is not too busy at any one time as each time slot is limited to 6 people. If you’d like to bring an extra person, but just pick one bucket of flowers, each extra person is £5 (children 11 and under are free).

You are very welcome to bring your child or children to the pick-your-own flowers session, although note that I have designated one time slot per day especially for this purpose out of respect for those wanting to come here particularly for some peace and quiet. If at all possible, please bring your children at the time designated.

Cut and Create Workshops

Come and spend some time in the garden and cut your own flowers to make a beautiful bouquet to take home. This is an opportunity for anyone to take a few hours out of their busy lives to unwind, to reconnect to themselves and to nature, to enjoy the sights and sounds and smells of the farm and to explore their floral creativity.

Once you’ve filled your bucket, you will be guided by me in making a beautiful bouquet. I’ll walk you through my creative process as I make a sample bouquet and then give you time and space to create your own. There are some pointers which I hope you’ll find helpful, but this is your creation and I’ll only help if you ask me to!

Please bring a bucket or vase to take your bouquet home in if you are travelling far. I’ll wrap your bouquet to take away if you’d like me to.

Yoga and meditation

Come along for some gentle vinyasa flow yoga and meditation on the farm. We’ll start with a grounding meditation and move into a slow but strong active series. Open to all levels.

If the weather is bad I will cancel the class and refund you or transfer your class to the next date - it is lovely to be outside in the garden when it’s nice but not so fun if it’s cold and rainy!

Please bring a yoga mat and water bottle.
